- Miss Sabrina
Since it's the last week of September, we decided to show you our family tree. The children really enjoyed painting it with each other. Now they enjoy walking by and being able to show each other their families. They get so excited seeing their pictures in the middle of the hall way each morning. We are all one big family at Little Lambs.

This week, the preschool class is working hard on "All about Me" posters to take home for the end of September. Choosing colors they like, each preschooler has colored in an outline of themselves on poster paper and chosen stickers and pictures that they like most to decorate their poster. By Friday afternoon, these posters will be fully decorated and adorned in fun facts about them so they can put them up at home!
- Mister Pat Tummy time! Tummy time is so important for babies, placing a baby on his or her stomach only while awake and supervised. This helps babies develop strong neck and shoulder muscles and promotes motor skills. Tummy time can also prevent the back of a baby’s head from developing flat spots. Tummy time gives babies a way to move freely and explore their environment!
What do you think of tummy time? Miss Elisabeth Our Little Lambs had a special visitor? Who came to school?
Erin! Erin is my family’s 5th foster puppy! She had an impromptu visit with our Little Lambs. Animals can be so important for children, they teach us love and respect, as well as responsibility. The children were touched by Erin’s story (she was left in a cow pasture in rural Mississippi) and her fighting spirit. Our Little Lambs were so kind and gentle, they had so much fun playing with Erin. Soon, Erin will move to her “furever” home and more puppies will need us to foster. I am sure they will have fun visiting our Little Lambs too! -Miss Jennifer In the month of September, it is All About Me. The children are learning about themselves and how we are all different, just like our Mr. Potato heads. We talked about our 5 senses of the body and what each one was used for. Then we had a little fun by creating our Mr. Potato heads out of what each child thought they looked like.
-Miss Sabrina Today, the preschool class had a special guest come to read to them. Every Wednesday is special reader day, where friends from our host church come to read us stories! Mrs. Thompson always has great books to read. Reading is very important to all ages, promoting better language and comprehension skills as children listen to stories, think about what's happening and sometimes even predict what's going to happen next.
- Mister Pat We're welcoming Ellie! This week, we greet Ellie and welcome her to our infant room. Ellie is the little sister of a former Little Lamb. We are so excited to have new babies joining our family. We wish her mommy good luck going back to work as Ellie begins her exciting new journey, safe and sound at Little Lambs.
- Miss Elizabeth September is “All about Me and my Family” as well as getting the school year off to an awesome start. Since this is my first official blog, our Little Lambs are helping me to show you the things we will learn about in September! We will also be concentrating on getting to know one another, learning about our friends’ families and making new friends. Keep an eye out for updates on our caterpillar (now chrysalis!) and other fun activities our lambs are involved in. I would like to share that my family is excited to be fostering puppies from the mid-south that have come north to find furever homes. Watch for pics as I share our journey. More important, I want to know what you think, so let me know. Have a great week.
-Miss Jennifer Since Fall is here, I have the toddlers using their fine motor skills to paint leaves. They are using their hands and many color paints to make their own version of what Fall looks like. Through finger painting, toddlers get a chance to use their creativity and express themselves through art. We are excited for Fall and can't wait to be able to collect leaves for future projects!
- Miss Sabrina Mrs. Walker came to see us and brought a special friend. He's a caterpillar! While she was here, she told us all about him and the amazing things he does. First, she taught us all about what he eats and why he eats sooooo much. It's because he needs lots of energy to build his cocoon. Mrs. Walker read us a story about a caterpillar who ate all kinds of things, like pizza, apples, hotdogs, even a cupcake! He was so hungry before he made his cocoon to turn into a butterfly, which she says is called a Chrysalis. There he is. With a full belly, our new caterpillar climbed all the way up to the top of his enclosure and spent the whole weekend making his cocoon. On Monday when we came to class, our caterpillar was all finished and nestled warmly in his cocoon. Come back in a few weeks to see what he looks like when he climbs out!
