This week, all of the Little Lambs enjoyed a Pizza Party with Mister McG who read a very special book to us called "Too Tall Saves Christmas"! The toddlers were very well behaved at the table and really enjoyed eating Pizza with everyone.

During some free activities today, these two built a slide to roll plastic wheels down. In order to make sure the slide sat level upon the stacks, they decided to weave thread through the stack plate holes and make a winch. All I did was watch as these amateur engineers imagined, designed, and compensated for problems all by themselves. As you can see, the stack plates fell down because the string wasn't tight enough, so they tightened it and decided to tie the ramp as well. This final step of troubleshooting proved successful and the two happily rolled wheels across the room for the rest of the activity time. :)
- Mister Pat We are welcoming Kai! We are so happy to have Kai join our Little Lambs family. Kai is close in age to our other babies in the room. It is so exciting that they are beginning their journey through school together! Kai certainly has had fun his first couple of days.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. - Miss Elisabeth Merry Christmas! Since this will be my last blog for 2017 I wanted to take the opportunity to thank our wonderful parents at Little Lambs! It has been a wonderful year! I have truly enjoyed every minute I have spent with your children. It has been my pleasure to watch them learn and grow, explore and experience new things! I thank you for sharing your children with us each and every day. As we end 2017 and begin a new year, I wish you all peace, joy and hope. I can’t wait to start a new year and see what it holds! From my family to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
P.S. We had so much fun at our special Parent’s Shopping Night out...it was a blast! - Miss Jen Little Lambs will begin a STEM activities program in January. I'm very excited about it and everything these activities will add to our day. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) activities are all around us even if we don't realize it. The picture above is one example. K'Nex, as you can see, are a great way for young learners to embrace the basic concepts of Engineering. Children build with their imaginations, but they still build things and that's the first step. Even our girls get into building intricate structures and fantastical, simple machines. Starting in January, We'll be learning the basics of each aspect of STEM and it's my hope that this will bring new inspiration to all my Little Lambs.
-Mister Pat Snow is fun for children of all ages, watching it, building in it or simply touching it if you are an infant! Infants like to explore the snow; it’s cold, makes you shiver a little then it disappears in your hand. It’s just winter fun, right? Actually no. An infant touching snow and experiencing it melt is the beginning of scientific thinking and observing the differences in matter. Children are becoming aware as young as infancy in the changing stages of matter, these skills develop as children age. Who says science is just for older children?
-Miss Elisabeth As we begin this holiday season, our advent signs are being placed outside. Hope and peace are already in place. This holiday season our little lambs have been busy working on their character building skills sharing, giving and receiving, as there is more to life than just letters, colors, numbers and shapes. We would like our little lambs to learn everything they need to know and grow into good people as well. Our advent signs remind us of what the holidays are really about. We have hope that our lessons will stick. We hope for peace not only at school and at home but in the world around us as well. As we learn our lessons, make our crafts, and have our celebrations; we wish you and your families hope and peace this special holiday season. Merry Christmas! -Miss Jen December is always such an exciting month! We will concentrate on letters J and K, color green, number four, stars, and the holidays. This month, we will have a pajama day, a pizza party and a few other surprises along the way! During this special month, where everybody has a holiday; our little lambs will explore giving and receiving and how different friends celebrate in different ways and share their traditions. As you share your special holiday traditions at home, we will share our special traditions here at school! Happy Holidays.
