Snow is fun for children of all ages, watching it, building in it or simply touching it if you are an infant! Infants like to explore the snow; it’s cold, makes you shiver a little then it disappears in your hand. It’s just winter fun, right? Actually no. An infant touching snow and experiencing it melt is the beginning of scientific thinking and observing the differences in matter. Children are becoming aware as young as infancy in the changing stages of matter, these skills develop as children age. Who says science is just for older children?
