Thunder Lizards grazed and hunted all around us for a whole month, but now we've got to look forward to February. Bye Bye Dinosaurs! We'll miss you.

We are sad to be saying goodbye to our dinosaur friends until next January!

Love Saves Lives was the theme for the March for Life on January 19th. The right to life is granted in our constitutional rights, support the born alive act and pain capable bills, let YOUR love save lives!
- The Big Lamb This week the toddlers are learning about letter L. Learning letters for toddlers can be a tedious task. Children learn in many different ways, some are visual, some are auditory and some are hands on! Learning through a game can make all the difference. Our toddlers enjoy many different educational games during circle time. Sometimes if they are up and moving and having fun children are more willing and open to the information and the recall can be more attainable. One of the the games we enjoyed this week was “Letter Search” where once we identify a letter, everyone has the opportunity to find it around the classroom. Children feel such a sense a pride when they are successful! So let’s have fun learning while we play!
- Miss Jen On Martin Luther King Day, The Big Lamb is celebrating the work of DR. ALVEDA KING, look her up on Wikipedia! We salute her work in defending the most defenseless of all of us.
-The Big Lamb What a great way to start a STEM year at Little Lambs. This week, we've spent a lot of time learning about the kinds of dinosaurs but more than that; we've learned about Paleontology. That's Science at its finest, using technology and science to uncover new forms of Dino life out there in the ground all over the world. THEN using Engineering to dig it up and math to find out just how old it is and where it came from. We spent a little time watching a docu-series called Planet Dinosaur! It taught us that Paleontologists don't just uncover fossils and learn all about them but also use computers to bring these great lizards back to life for us to observe. It's a wonderful series, but there is a little bit of Saurus on Saurus violence. It was a big, dangerous world back then. Dino Lives Matter though and everyone in the Preschool/Pre-K group agrees, that's why Paleontology is such an important science. Plus, Dinosaurs are so cool. Rawr -Mister Pat
We are walking with dinosaurs, or at least painting and gluing with them! January is such a fun and exciting month...everyone loves dinosaurs! This month we get to learn all about the different types and how they lived. Today we cut, glued and created 3D dinos for our classroom! A little science, a little glue and a lot of fun! How cool is that?
-Miss Jen What is Ben up to?
He’s playing with dinosaurs! Even infants can enjoy our month of concentrating on dinosaurs! More than just playing with dinosaurs, Ben is learning about new textures, transferring objects and imaginative play. Exploring a variety of objects helps infants begin to develop their creativity and complex process of imaginative play. So the next time it looks like an infant is just simply moving objects around, remember, it is so much more. -Miss Elisabeth Past and present, old and new, now and then! Science, Technology, Engineering and Math bring dinosaurs back to life and helps us choose a good path!
Welcome to 2018 -The Big Lamb Motion is part of everything we do and infants are just learning how to move, but that's not all. There's science behind even the simplest act, like cause and effect. So even though we're not consciously thinking about it, our minds are always using science and math to help us make it from point A to point B and vice versa. This little lamb loves the big blue ball, learning that the ball rolls when you push it and it goes this way or that way based on where its pushed on. That's scientific at its most basic level.
Since January sees the roll-out of our STEM program, we all have science, technology, engineering, and math on our minds. Dinosaurs ROAR and in January, everything is NOT always black or white! We will explore what makes a rectangle, and climb the LMN Tree. Old and new, babies and dinosaurs, now and then, past and present ring in the New Year! Happy 2018 from all of us at Little Lambs, we are looking forward to a great year.
