Several times throughout the day we read in our classrooms, all of our classrooms, including the infant room! A love of books and emerging reading skills starts in infancy. Infants can and should participate in lap-reading with an adult everyday. Infants should explore books in a variety of ways including: gazing, babbling, patting, and pointing at books. Infants should be allowed to explore a variety of different books that include pictures, things to touch, things that pop-up and represent different people, places and objects. We want our little lambs to grow up loving books, don’t you?
